Real Cedar shake random cut shingles. This is a non-aromatic cedar and the sheet is 5" x 12".
NOTE: We do not recommend the non-adhesive on these shingles as the sheet may split apart in shipping as well as during handling. We can not be responsible for this happening and they will not be returnable.
12" exposure are 23 strips approx. 4" long on each sheet and 2 sheets to each package. That's around 48 square inches of shingles at a 50% overlap.
6" exposure are 46 strips approx. 4" long on each sheet and 2 sheets to each package. That's around 48 square inches of shingles at a 50% overlap.
We strongly recommend ordering the adhesive backing as cedar tends to split easily any you may end up installing individual shingles that way.
Also, pre-stain or pre-paint the shingles with aging solutions before installing as you get a more random, natural, aging look that way.
Installing Made Easy: Cut strips of masking tape about the width of the shingles (height) and apply across the full width of the shingle strip before cutting from the carrier sheet. Leave a tab of tape at each end. Cut the strip of shingles from the carrier sheet and turn over. Remove the protective backer from the strip if it's present. Apply the tape to your roof and burnish in place then remove the masking tape. The masking tape hold the strip together so it doesn't break apart between the shingles.
