KELLEY'S
LANDING AT FALL CREEK |
|
 |
|
So, what
was the inspiration for this series of kits? It was a group of
articles, "Kemtron Waterfront Diorama", written by the late
Al Armitage and published in the Narrow Gauge
and Short Line Gazette back in 1980's. Al was a master model
builder as he showed both in this series and in other model construction
articles written over the years. We at RSSM are glad that Bob Brown of the
Gazette recognized the quality of Al's modeling and continues to this
day to provide an outlet for other craftsman model builders to share their
experience with the rest of the model railroad world.
The above
3D drawing was originated by Bruce West of Mainstreet Heritage. Bruce did
the basic buildings and then they were fleshed out here at RSSM adding the
siding, windows, roofing and scenic elements such as people, trees and the
trucks. Bruce is a licensed architect so we knew we were in good hands
getting the basics correct. |

So,
what's this mean for you, a Rusty Stumps Scale Models customer? Well, This
is our newest offering to you in HO scale. But, it's not
quite ready for "prime time" as the saying goes. There will be six
kits in Kelley's Landing at Fall Creek and the first should be available by mid January 2008. After
that we hope to have a new kit to offer every two to three months.
The first, the Boarding house will be followed by the Gun Shop/Post Office
and the Wharf
then the I.O.O.F. Hall. The fourth will be the Hardware Emporium then the
General Merchandise Store which is the only brick building of the lot.
You can
purchase all or just some of the kits. The setting can be as shown in this
diorama drawing or you can set the buildings as you choose, together or
apart. Prices will range (est.) from $49.95 to $74.95. Those
purchasing the first kit will get first notice of the next kits
availability. Additional information and details about each building, base
dimensions of each building and the diorama footprint will be
forthcoming at a later date on our website.
Watch this website for more information, release dates and
prices. |

White Metal Items
We announced a cut back in
our white metal castings due to a extreme increase in metal
costs. Luckily we have found a new source for white metal at our
older, 2006, prices. With that we have re-introduced our
white metal car frames.
