I.O.O.F. HALL:  Custom Spider Map for www.rustystumps.com

The I.O.O.F. Hall is the largest and most impressive building at Kelley's Landing. As the area grew and more residence came to live in the area a need for a general meeting hall was needed. Thus the I.O.O.F. Hall was built by the local chapter of the International Order of Odd Fellows. General work rooms and such are on the second floor and with the high ceiling on the third floor this is the general meeting room and takes up the whole area.

The door to the left is the entrance door to the stairs to the upper floors.

Being close to the Gun Shop next door there are no windows on the first two floors of the I.O.O.F Hall. Because they didn't need the space on the first floor that was rented out to a Pool Hall. Besides, they could use the rent to help offset building expenses.

Again, there are windows on the back of all floors and also on the sides of the upper floors to help with ventilation of the oppressive Summer heat.

There is a cover over the rear common entrance door to a small hallway. From there a door leads into the Pool Hall and also a back stairs to the upper floors.

This side of the I.O.O.F Hall has windows on both the second and third floors but none on the first. It was anticipated the next building on this side would be as close as the one on the other but a small alley way was left instead.

The I.O.O.F Hall was built around 1942 and is of wood construction. It is a simple building in design but very functional in purpose. Many other organizations that found their way to Kelley's Landing would rent the meeting hall from time to time. Eventually indoor plumbing was provided with restrooms on the second and first floors. Up to that point it was a double hole outhouse in the back.

This will be the fourth kit release as the Wharf kit will come out shortly after the Gun Shop.
