Rusty Stumps has put
together a generic article on working with our laser cut cardstock, RC
Board and plywood windows and doors. This article gives you an overview
of the recommended steps we use in installing our windows and doors into
wall sections. Click on the photo at right and you can download the PDF
file.
Mike Chambers first article offers us an
insight to some of his methods of Staining and Weathering Stripwood.
This five page article is the first of two dealing with this very
interesting and helpful subject. Nearly all of us from one time or
another have wondered about different methods of staining stripwood to
get the "real aged wood" look to our buildings, trestles and other wood
structures. Now you have something to help you with your endeavors.
Mike Chambers takes us further along
with his second article on Staining and Weathering Stripwood. The
discussion continues on the various methods of painting, staining and
otherwise coloring and weathering stripwood. This six page article
will help expand your understanding of Mike's methods and how he builds
his top quality models.
Mike Chambers third and final article in
the series on Staining and Weathering Stripwood delves into some newer
methods, the use of pigmented inks. Mike discusses the various inks he
has purchased and used, the methods of application and photos of the
final results.
I would like to thank Mike for
permission to offer these well written and informative articles to our
valued customers.
Mike Chambers, again, has provided RSSM with one of his outstanding
tutorial articles: Weathering Rusty Stumps Shingles. This 9 page PDF
file will give you a real good oversight on Mike's methods of producing
outstanding realistic looking shingles for his models.
He starts with our Random Shake Shingles in Medium Brown and adds various
colorings to achieve these outstanding results.
